Set Sail For Your Goals

Psychological online counselling

Evidence-based

I place great value on research and scientific grounding. My work is based on empirically supported methods to offer you effective help. Together we will choose what works best for you.

Solution-focused

Together, we’ll explore how you can identify and tap into the resources and strengths you already have. One of my core beliefs is that each of us holds the key to our own solutions within.

100 % online – anywhere, anytime

All our sessions take place online. This means you don’t need to plan for travel – and you can benefit from the flexibility to fit counselling more freely into your schedule, wherever you are.

Queer-friendly

As a queer person myself, I understand and empathise with the unique experiences, challenges, and questions that may arise for you. This is a space where you are welcome, seen, and safe.

Chaotic good on eye-level

My life story looks a bit like someone spilled a handful of dice and marbles on the floor – and honestly, I can’t complain about where they landed. So let’s make use of a perspective that might be a little different.

Qualified psychologist

In our work together, I bring the knowledge gained from five years of university education. Beyond that, I’m committed to continuous professional development.

About me

I’m a psychologist (M.Sc.) offering online psychological counselling. My path into psychology wasn’t a straight line: I dropped out of school at 15 due to severe school anxiety. Despite not returning to school in the traditional sense, my love for education and knowledge kept me going until I earned my master’s degree in clinical psychology.

Through my own journey – from chaos to academia – I learned how important the right kind of support can be on unclear paths. My story was even featured in an NDR (German public broadcasting service) about school dropouts.

I believe we all have the inner resources to overcome our challenges – we sometimes just need help finding and using them. In my work, I combine scientific expertise with deep personal understanding. You don’t have to navigate uncharted waters alone.

FAQ

The initial, non-binding consultation (approx. 15 minutes) is free of charge.
A one-to-one session lasting 60 minutes costs €90.
A 90-minute session costs €130.
Fees for other session lengths or multi-person settings can be arranged individually.

As part of my systemic counselling training (DGSF), I also offer systemic sessions (50–60 minutes) for €45. The condition: I may prepare an anonymised session report and submit it to my training provider. If you’re interested in a systemic session, simply mention this when getting in touch.

Note: In accordance with §19 of the German VAT Act (UStG), I apply the small business regulation and therefore do not charge VAT.

As a psychologist, I can support you with a wide range of psychological matters. However, I do not offer diagnosis or treatment of mental health conditions. These fall under the responsibility of licensed medical or psychotherapeutic professionals.
Since the distinction can be difficult to make – even for professionals – here’s an example:

You’re generally managing life quite well, but you just can’t seem to get started on your thesis. In this case, a mental health condition is unlikely, and psychological counselling may be helpful.

You’ve been feeling low for several weeks, getting out of bed is becoming increasingly difficult, your studies feel pointless, and you no longer see any reason to work on your thesis. In this case, you may be experiencing depression and should consult a licensed mental health professional.

Sessions take place via the GDPR-compliant platform coachingspace.

All you need is a computer or tablet and a stable internet connection. A webcam is helpful so that we can see each other during our work together – but it’s not essential.
The platform runs in your browser, so there’s no need to install any software.
If needed, I’ll be happy to support you: for our first session, I can guide you via telephone to help you access the platform.

Yes, counselling sessions involving more than one person are possible and can be particularly helpful when dealing with shared challenges.
In such cases, each person should join the session using their own device.
If you’re interested, please send me a message using the contact form and briefly describe your situation and how many people would be taking part. I’ll then provide you with pricing details.

No. Health insurance providers usually only cover medical treatments, such as psychotherapy.
In certain cases, counselling costs may be tax-deductible.
As I am not a tax adviser, please consult a qualified professional regarding this.

Of course, I need to earn a living through my work.
At the same time, I reserve a limited number of reduced-rate or even free sessions each month for people in financial hardship. If you would like to use this option, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
Please bear in mind that availability is limited, and I kindly ask that you only take up this offer if you are truly in need.
I do not ask for any “proof” – the offer is based on trust.

Terms, conditions, and everything else

Terms and Conditions

Please read the following conditions carefully before our first session. If you have any questions, feel free to get in touch.

1. Conclusion of Contract and Appointment Booking

By booking a session for psychological online counselling, you agree to the following Terms and Conditions. Appointments can be arranged via the contact form on the website, by email to hallo@hannah-dubbels.de, or by phone at (+49) 04202 910 40 94. If you book by phone, a confirmation email will follow.

2. Counselling Format

All counselling services are provided exclusively via remote communication (phone, internet). For online sessions, the GDPR-compliant platform “coachingspace” is used.

3. Technical Requirements

To participate in online counselling, you need a stable internet connection and a suitable device (PC, laptop, or tablet) with a working camera and microphone. Please ensure these requirements are met. I am not liable for technical issues beyond my control (e.g., internet provider outages). If a session cannot take place due to technical issues, a replacement date will be arranged. If technical requirements cannot be met at all, a text-based session may be offered instead.

4. Reduced Rates

For individuals who are not financially able to pay the full session fee, I offer a limited number of sessions at a reduced rate. If you wish to make use of this, please let me know in your inquiry. As capacity is limited, there may be a waiting period. You do not need to “prove” your financial situation – this offer is based on mutual trust.

5. Exclusion of Diagnosis and Therapy

As a psychologist, I offer support and guidance in various life situations. However, this excludes the diagnosis and treatment of clinical disorders. For this, please contact a licensed psychotherapist or physician. If, during our collaboration, signs of a clinical disorder become apparent, I will recommend seeking professional treatment. Upon request, I will help you search for appropriate providers and offer interim support. Psychological counselling does not replace psychotherapy.

6. Personal Responsibility and Disclaimer

You are fully responsible for your actions both during and outside the sessions. I conduct all sessions to the best of my knowledge and ability to support a successful outcome – however, no guarantee can be made. Psychological counselling is not a substitute for medical or psychotherapeutic treatment. I accept no liability for any consequences arising from the use of the counselling service, especially in cases of disregarding the provided guidance or independently terminating recommended measures.

7. Confidential Environment During Sessions

To ensure focused collaboration, please make sure you are not disturbed during your session and can speak freely without being overheard. If this is not possible for valid reasons (e.g., baby, thin walls in a shared flat), text-based counselling can be arranged.

8. Emergency Policy

At the beginning of each session, please inform me of your current location. This is necessary in case of an emergency to ensure that help can reach you quickly. Your location information will remain confidential and will only be used in emergencies.

9. Recording Prohibition

Recording of our conversations is not permitted without the consent of all parties involved.

10. Payment and Reimbursement

Health insurance does not cover the cost of counselling. You will receive an invoice after each session, payable via bank transfer within 14 days of the invoice date. Current rates:

60-minute individual session: €90

90-minute session: €130

50–60-minute systemic session*: €45

*condition: you agree to let me submit an anonymised protocol of our session as part of my systemic counselling certification (DGSF)

Prices for other session lengths or multiple participants are arranged individually.

Prices listed on the website are binding. However, I reserve the right to change prices. Any changes will be communicated in advance. All prices include VAT under the small business regulation (§ 19 UStG).

11. Cancellation Policy and No-Show Fee

Cancellations or rescheduling are free of charge up to 24 hours before the scheduled session. For cancellations with less than 24 hours’ notice or no-shows, I reserve the right to charge a no-show fee of €50. This policy ensures mutual reliability and helps prevent unused time slots.

12. Availability and Appointment Allocation

The number of available appointments is limited. Appointments are scheduled in the order of requests. Waiting times may occur.

13. Frequency and Number of Sessions

There is no fixed number of sessions. Frequency and duration depend on your goals and individual needs. A final session is offered to reflect on the counselling process and discuss further recommendations.

14. Right of Refusal

I reserve the right to decline counselling without stating a reason.

15. Confidentiality and Data Protection

As a psychologist, I am bound by professional confidentiality (§203 Section 1 No. 2 StGB). All information shared during counselling is treated confidentially. Disclosure occurs only with your explicit consent or when legally required (e.g., imminent danger as outlined in §34 StGB). Personal data is processed in accordance with the GDPR and stored only as long as necessary. The privacy policy for online counselling is available on my website.

16. Right of Withdrawal

You have the right to withdraw from the agreement for online counselling within 14 days without giving a reason. The withdrawal period begins on the day the appointment is confirmed. To exercise your right of withdrawal, send a written request to hallo@hannah-dubbels.de. Please note: If the counselling is fully provided before the withdrawal period ends, and you explicitly requested this, your right of withdrawal expires.

17. Final Provisions

If any provision of these Terms and Conditions is or becomes invalid, the remaining provisions remain unaffected. In such cases, a valid provision will replace the invalid one, reflecting the original intent as closely as possible.
